  1. I have a portion of video with scrolling text on the bottom that I want to remove using Vegas Video. I tried the Border effect but it adds a border to all four sides. How can I remove the text from the bottom only?

With Virtual Dub, you add a filter called null transform. It lets you add borders. If the file is MPEG, you can also use Virtual Dub, but it must be Virtual Dub mod, or you can use TMPGEnc, under Settings-->Advanced tab-->Clip frame.

  3. Thanks. There must be a way to do this in Vegas though.

I figured out how to remove it using the pan/crop tool but that temporarily resizes the video which looks strange. The ideal way would be add a border on the bottom only.

You did not mention you were using Vegas, and I had no way of knowing, sorry. The two ways told you about will crop from the bottom only. I hope you fix your problem, though.

The subject mentions Vegas but I'll add it to the body also.

The title mentions you are thinking about using Vegas. I guess they teach hyphen usage differently these days.

I don't recall learning about hyphen usage. Perhaps I missed that class.

    How is it now?
