  1. Im using the full version of TMPGEnc Plus to encode a couple of movie clips to mpg. Most of them encode just fine and I have become somewhat experienced with the software. My problem is this: I encode a clip say that is 10 minutes long and only the first 3 or so minutes are actually encoded. Is there a setting in the program under environmental setting I need to adjust? I have figured out how to adjust the setting to allow the encoding of unsupported clips.

I have read many articles off of this site and have found them very helpful. I did find an article on configuring TMPGEnc Plus for high quality results, which included recommended settings. I have learned a lot form the articles and from trial and error, but I am unable to figure this one out without some extra help.

    thanks in advance.

Let me guess, it's a downloaded xvid.
Maybe it's trashed about 3 minutes in , and TNPGenc
can't deal with a broken file.

  3. Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure if its a xvid file or not. Is there a way I could tell if it is or not? I do know that it has a .avi file extention. I'm new to the video world. I know a lot about mp3s and audio, but am just recently picking up the terms in the video world. I have found that if I change the environmental settings that that works and solves my problem. It encodes the entire clip.

Stupid question. Is an avi a compressed mpg? Sortt of like an mp3 and a wav file? Is asf a compressed file as well?
