    I have downloaded an AVI/divx file. When I try to play it my windows media player shuts down saying it is unsupported format. I checked it in Gspot and it says Not a valid AVI file. I have also downloaded the Gordian Knot Codec Pack and it still won't play.

    Have you tried a divx codec and player?

    Yup as soon as I open the file I get the same problem as in windows media player--Divx player has encountered a problem and needs to close.

    Sounds like the download isn't complete. Bittorrent is terrible about this, as opposed to kazaa.

    Get the 4cc changer and play with that. Try resetting the video to divx or xvid.
