  3. I agree with donpedro, plus I couldn't see anything about VBR and FR recording ( only 4 preset recording times ). Not enough for me...

  5. DonPedro,

Since you have the Philips 75 DVD Recorder, you may want to try changing the bit setting flag from DVD+R/RW to DVD-ROM.

Mine works fine... I was refering to JVC and their "Multi-Format Compatibility"

  7. Anyone know if JVC is planning a similar model with an HDD? That's an issue for me. Or if Panasonic has any plans to add -RW to their units? The DMR-E100 with RAM and -R/RW would be the ticket for me.

So far, the JVC DMR-1 comes only in the PAL flavor. It can also play NTSC on a PAL tv. Strange that new hardware is always presented in the European version, first.

I think that at the present time, only JVC knows if there will be a Hard disk version.

I saw specs on an NTSC version of this player, due out by Q4 2003, but I lost the link long ago.

    This is available: http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL026710&page=3
It's a HD/SVHS recorder. Not sure if the HD is removable, what its size is, or if it can be swapped with other standard HDs. Also not sure about the file system. But the potential is there for those wanting a HD recorder!

I'm looking hard at the Cyberhome 1500 at the moment.

I mean use your Philips 75 to change bit setting flag on your DVD+R/RW disc to DVD-ROM. Then you shouldn't have any problem playing the DVD+R/RW disc on the JVC unit.

If that's what it takes for the JVC to read DVD+, then so be it. You're lucky enough to have a DVD+ Recorder that actually supports bit setting.

    Hi all.
Planning to shell out for one of these new JVCs end of Jan. Will let you know how I get on. Anyone has any more info on this recorder I'd be interested in hearing.
    Thx
