I've been using virtualdub with huffyuv and getting great results, but I have to capture at 720x480 and this takes a lot of space (I assume this is better than 640x480 because the aspect ratio is much closer). I'm using an ATI aiw 128 in windows 2000. Is it possible to capture at 352x240 for an avi or is this a windows limitation? It seems strange to me that ms would include 352x288 but not the NTSC vcd standard size...

    Thanks,

Yes, this works. You can change the size at "custom size", if the regular video-size doenst offer q.ntsc. As far as I know, the driver already supports vcd-format. If not, the "custom size" will work. Maybe you have to change the codec, best for caputring (if you have neough hd-space) is the huffyuv-codec. The MPEG1/2 Codec of the AIW is crap!!!

Hope that helped. Alos look in the FAQ of virtual-Dub and the Database on the VD-Homepage. Be sure to have the latest drivers of ATI-AIW and no other Capture-Cards in the System.
