Panasonic rp82 and dvd+rw

My rp82 plays dvd+rw disk without any problem except that if I press the STOP button during play, the player stops and freezes. I'll need to power off and power on the player again to reset it. The dvd+rw disks I used are HP 2.4x media and I used a TDK 420n writer. The same disk plays fine in my KLH dvd player.

If anyone here has any info on how it can be fixed, please let me know. Thanks.
