I authoured a dvd using tmpgenc dvd author and burnt it with its built in writing tool. The dvd video was made successfully but when i played it on my standalone player, some points of the movie freezes for about a second or 2 and some macroblocks appearing on some scenes.
the original video files plays fine in PC.

*** 3 Mpeg1 files (312x240) converted from VCD using ISOBUSTER.
    3 Mpeg2 files (720x480) captured from VHS using neodvd4.
2 Mpeg2 files (720x480) pictures with music made to video using
    ulead's videostudio7.
1 Mpeg2 file (704x480) picture with music made to video using
    ulead's videostudio7.

I combined all the files above and authored it in tmpgenc dvd author and burnt it at 1x using Melody dvd-r disk.(i think its princo)

any thoughts on how to solve this problem is greatly appreciated.

sounds like a media problem to me. I have gone through this before. Try another meida, one that will play well with your player.
