  1. I don't know what happened but I now cannot put my cpu into standby mode. When I go to Start,Turn off computer, and then my three choices come up to restart, turn off, or standby, the standby button is greyed out. Any ideas on how to enable standby again? I am running windows xp.

  2. Does your computer support a hibernation mode? Not all computers support that, especially desktops. I believe that Windows XP normally has the standby option available by default if the computer has the proper equipment and is configured in the BIOS.
