I own a Panasonic DVD recorder DMR E30 and have tried to use a few of the codes mentioned in this forum but it doesn't work. Is there some way that I can get my Recorder to play ALL DVD regional codes (US and Australian) or is there some special thing I have to do to get those secret menus?
Also my Recorder can be switched off using the remote but not switched on the same way. The only way to switched it on is to hit the power button on the recorder. Is there some way that I can turn it on using the remote? Or is my set defective??

Ive tried some codes/hacks too but they dont seem to work, Im pretty sure that it cant be made region free by means of a simple remote hack, Ive seen companies they sell/modify region free Panasonic recorders but i think they need some inside modifications not a simple hack.
Big companies like Panny/sony etc tend not to release DVD players that can be easily hacked thats usually the domain of the cheaper market.
Id love it if I was wrong though and someone posted a hack here ! -
That's bad news. I was hoping to get some of the complete seasons box sets of Cheers and Frasier from the US since they haven't come out with them in Australia. Won't do much good in that case.
And any feedback on how to turn my DMR-E30 on using the remote? Can't seem to get that to work.
