  1. Hi,
I've capture a video at 480*576 (PAL SVCD) with virtualdub and mjpeg codec. I capture it from an analog source with a WinTV card.

Do I need to deinterlace it to encode to SVCD ???????

I can see horizontal lines (like an interlaced video).
To make simple, here is a screenshot (wait a few seconds, the server is not very fast):

If I need to deinterlace which Avisynth filter do I need to use ???

    Thanks.

  2. Do not de-interlace. SVCD is mpeg-2 which supports interlaced video, just encode as interlaced.

To check out your capture properly, do not use WMP, play it in PowerDVD which has a built in on-the fly de-interlacer. This is neccessary on your PC monitor which is not an interlaced display. A TV is interlaced so it will look ok on there.

    NO! Leave it interlace.

  4. I agree to leaving it interlaced...
seems however that you need to swap the fields...
