  1. I used pulldown.exe on my 23.976 fps MPEG-2 elementary videos and the resultant file stays in synch with the audio but when I do a pulldown on a 24 fps MPEG-2 elementary video, the video is about 1 sec off-synch with the audio (video file becomes 1-2 seconds longer).

    How the "heck" did you get a 24fps video?

    If you are working with NTSC then it should be 29.970fps or 23.976fps and PAL is always 25.000fps

  3. It was converted from a 24 fps Divx file. Anyway do you know the answer to the question?

    It sounds like someone ripped the divx incorrectly. try slowing down your avi to 23.976fps and then encode. It might also solve your sync problem if you also have that problem with the divx.

  7. Yeah I changed the frame rate to 23.976 while encoding. This works so this means pulldown only works for 23.976 fps.

    pulldown will work on 24fps .. makes it 30 -- though that is not used for dvd but is used for hdtv in some modes ..
