    Can I shorten this procedure?

I'm converting 1-hour VHS tapes to VCD using:

    (1) ADVC-100 to convert analog to digital

    (2) TMPGenc to encode to .mpg

    (3) Movie Factory (great Menus with screen shots, but not good chaptering and FREQUENT audio sync problems) to author first for Menu

    (4) VCDEasy (no Menus but great chaptering and NO audio sync problems) for final author using the Menu I made from MovieFactory

So I have been authoring and burning on CD-RW with MovieFactory first to get the great menu. Then I play my CD-RW on my computer and capture a .bmp of the Menu with WinDVD.

I change Menu.bmp to Menu.mpg with VCDEasy and begin the second authoring procedure in VCDEasy using the Menu(s).mpg I created in MovieFactory. It looks great, and it plays great.

Is there any way to shorten this procedure? All I want from MovieFactory is the menu.

you might give Nero Vision a try. they finally put out an update that allows you to burn a disc image on your hard drive even if Vision says the project size is too large to fit on the disc. should be able to burn the iso with Nero Burning Rom. thumbnail creation appears to have become a little buggy since their last update though. may have to use automatic thumbnail creator. still trying out the update (2.0.1.9).

I said I'll be done in a minute. I meant a Microsoft minute.

Thank you, but I've had so much trouble with NeroVision in the past that I don't even want to go there again.

I found a formula that works for me, and I'm producing wonderful VCDs. I guess I'll keep on keepin' on.
