I was trying to backup Richard III which I figured should be easy since it's only a single layerdisk... when I add the dvd to DVDBackup, I only get the first VOB, there are 3 more that don't seem to want to join the fun.
I've never tried 0sex, so I'm not sure what it can do
Any suggestions?

well osex can do them...
the other option would be to copy the dvd to your HD then try running them through. maybe they would all show up then.
or try osex. export to dvd folder and you will be fine. -
Yeah, I've had the same thing happen on several DVDs. OSEx always worked perfectly on them. launch OSEx, hit the "Fmt" button, and choose "DVD Image", and then hit 'Begin' and choose a destination. This will take a lot longer than DVDBackup, but will give you the best results. Once you have the .IMG on your HD, rename it to .dmg, mount it by double clicking it, and then launch DVD2OneX, and set the source to the VIDEO_TS folder on the mounted DVD image.

hey, I didn't know it could do that....
if I create an image file with 0sex of a DVD that was only 4.4G to begin with, can I just burn it directly from the image file?
the great thing about mostly collecting artsy films is that they tend not to be dual layered... -
Im inclined to say yes, but personally have not done it myself.
the way to find out is
1. mount the image
2. see if dvd player can open and play the movie back fine.
if its not been decrypted, you will get all sorts of crazy playback (usually looks really crazy with colors and blurs etc)
if it looks good on the screen, id say you can go ahead and burn it.
typically if a dvd is 4.4 or less you just need to back it up and then burn it. DVD2ONE doesnt do anything to it other than make it a size that can fit onto dvdr if its too large. -
Yeah, if it's under 4.377 GB, you can just use OSEx to extract the IMG to your HD, launch Toast, put it in Disk Image mode, and just drag the IMG over Toast's window, and burn away. It should work fine. If Toast says that there isn't enough space on the media for the image, then you'll need to use DVD2OneX to shrink the VIDEO_TS folder.
