Best capture software??? Any suggestions??

Hello there,

I just recently purchased the Adaptec Videoh DVD Media Center PCI edition and although i really like it. I don't really like WINDVR and Sonic MY DVD that much. They are okay but i was trying to find something that might work like both of them but be better? I want something that can act as WINDVR does in that it can work through your cable and record stuff when you want and all that and something that will do the file changing that My DVD does. Any Suggestions??

VirtualDub is a good piece of software, and free. It will allow you to do segmented captures, it's highly configurable, and most people online have some experience with it (good support).

Segmented captures allow users of Fat/Fat32 file systems (Windows 95/98/ME) to capture files larger than 4GB. They do this by breaking the capture file up into 'segments'. Essentially, each time the capture file approaches the size limits of the file system, the software creates a new segment. All of the segments can later be joined up for encoding as needed.
