    Hello!

I'm checking the ffmepgx and I've checked with a home video in divx. I wonder to convert some of them to VCD, in order to play in my home DVD. In total, 90 minutes.

Usually I did it with VirtualDub and TMPGenc, but I've download ffmpegx to check it with my PM G3 300 and OSX.

Check ffmpeg-mpeg1 encoding, high quality, two pass encoding... and 1 CD of 650 MB, 112 kbps, rated to 860 bitrate.

The Powermac spends 6 hours in the first pass and 6 hours more in the second and have done a 616 MB mpeg. The mpeg IS FANTASTIC!!!

Burn to CDRW 650 MB with Nero and VCD non-standard.

The DVD player have done some errors on playing, some "artifacts"...

I've open Tmpgenc, de-multiplex and before multiplex the mpeg created with ffmpegx. Tmpenc said that 29000 things could be underbuffer!!! The final multiplexed is 640MB, 24MB more than the first one.

Another burn on the CDRW 650 MB and -for my surprise-, the player don't have "artifacts" and errors.

I don't know how useful is it, but it have worked for me. I think it could be related to VBV.

I don't use ffmpeg, but just had to write and say how refreshingly nice it is to see an offer of useful information - and for a second post! :c)

    Wonderful! Well done, cacahuet! :c)
