  1. Hi All

    I`m just about to start converting some old home movies to DVD and would like to know if i should use PCM audio or MPEG audio?

    My worry is that if I author the dvd`s in a standard which is going to be phased out i will have trouble playing the DVD`d in the future.

    Need more info to help you. Are you in the US or elsewhere? Does the file size make a big difference to you?

  3. I`m from the UK, the size of the DVD files doesn`t really matter my main concern is future compatibility

    Then you can use either as players in UK use both. PCM is much larger.

    But... I saw a post from an expert here that said mpg audio is no longer a requirement, so for longevity sake, I'd stick with PCM or look into AC3.
