I've D/L an AVI file that I could not hear the audio on. A quick search and I found out that I needed a codec that could deal with Tag 8192.

After installing the codec - AC3Filter - all was well. I could hear and watch the AVI.

I converted the AVI to DVD format using neoDVD but have discovered that I have no audio after the conversion.

I have used neoDVD on several occassions and have never had this audio or video problem before.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem??

Use virtualdub to extract the audio and then use tmpgenc to encode. Here's a guide that shows how. In here, the author converts to a vcd but you just need the extracting audio part.

Thanx for the advice. I tried the guide you recommended and I have now encountered another problem.

When I try to save the WAV file in VirtualDub I get the following error message: "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format".

I've looked aroud this and other forums and have been unable to find any solutions.

Any ideas which way to turn on this one.

Instead of Virtual Dub, use Virtual Dub mod.
    Hello.

Extract the audio using virtualdubs direct stream copy mode. You then have several options for converting it to wav.

Simplest is to open the wav file vdub gave you in goldwave, the simply 'save as' and get a new version that really is a wav file.

Other options include besweet and headac3he.

  6. Or just bypass virtualdubmod completely and open the avi in goldwave and save out as wav.
