    I am going to rip DVD to VCD
    I have a canopus ADVC-100
    Which method would yield the best final result
    Put the DVD into DVD Player capture with ADVC-100 then re-encode using TMPGEnc to VCD
    OR
    Rip DVD with smartripper and then re-encode

    Go with Smartripper or DVD2SVCD or one of the other programs in the 'Tools' window to the left. Using the ADVC-100 is creating an unnecesary step and the conversion will result in quality loss. The tool method will also be faster. The ADVC-100 is more suited to raw video that is not already formatted digitally.
