  1. I have create high resolution slide show vcd with Nero before,
The dat file in the segment folder is 345 kb each.
From what I understand, it is converted from image files included in the slide show - a picture for a dat file.
The dat file in the Mpegav folder is the menu.
I recently created slide show with music in vcd format with Nero 6,
There are only 2 big dat files in the segment folder.
What are there? is it converted form mpeg-1 generated with images and music?
The image look blur when play back with vcd player on tv.
Is it not possible to create high resolution slide show vcd with music with this software or there are some wrong step I've taken?
Can any body with the relevant experiece please advice.

well , i have made many slideshow pictures with music , and i have used dvd pictureshow 2 for it.

i think it is one of the best simple soft and the quality pics is more than nero.( i only use nero for burning, i think that's the only thing he can do right).

try it , the version 2 of dvd pictureshow is better ( bug fix , less blurring , good sound....)

    hope it help.

btw the dat file in the vcd slideshow in nero is your pics . nero have encode it then put the information required for the slideshow in each pics so it gives a dat file.

Nero can write at least bin/cue and its own proprietary format (and ISO, I think). When you write an image, what it contains is of no importance.
I use Ulead Video Studio to create "slide shows" - the images are encoded to mpeg video (not mpeg images) and you can add overlays, sound track (music) and audio effects, along with a whole bunch of transition effects. Using this techniqe, you're limited to VCD (or SVCD) resolution. Of course, you could try to make a low bitrate miniDVD, as this kind of still image video doesn't take much bit rate to still look good even at DVD resolution.

  5. I would have settled on that only if miniDVD can be played on standalone DVD player or I have a DVD writer.
The images of Mpeg-1 slide show and images of Mpeg still looks so much different on my Sony DRC-MF TV.
