    I read at http://dvd-hq.info/Compression.html that I should convert my AVI to mpeg-2 while creating an elementary video stream.

    The second reason is the fact that there are several MPEG audio encoders that produce better quality than TMPGEnc.
    He doesn't list the name of the MPEG audio encoder. Which one should I use?

    Okay, I just installed TooLame as an the external audio encoder in Tmpenc. Is that all that's needed to get superior sound for DVD-Rs?
