  1. i'm running DVDSP 1.5, and i'm wondering what your opinions are on the new software, and particularly the new mpeg-2 encoder. i believe it's called "compressor".

can this encode half-D1 resolutions, and in VBR?

    thanks,

Compressor does support 1 & 2 pass vbr encode but not half-D1. DSP 2 dosen't support half-D1 files at all.

grr... whyever not? this is a rather large oversight on apple's part.. after all, half-D1 is part of the DVD specification!

  6. On DVDSP 1.5.2 you can import Half D1 Mpeg2 files without problems...
It's hard to believe that the new 2.0 can't... this format is on the Dvd specs!

Or are u speakin' only about compressor?! (I tried it and, yes, It only encodes at full D1)
