  1. I recently recpatured all my MiniDV movies, converted to MPEG-2 with Tmpgenc, and then outputed to my brand new DVD-R burner. I watched the DVD on my TV and noticed that unfortunately, that some of the sound crackles and distorts at very loud parts.

I suppose I should have reduced the sound to 75% when I made the mpeg-2 file in Tmpgenc, but I thought (foolishly) that the DVD wouldn't need it.

Is there a tool that I can use to fix this sound problem? Please don't tell me that I have to recapture everything and convert to MPEG-2 again!

Not exactly, but you won't be just adjusting a couple of knobs either. The captured and edited MPEGs need to be demultiplexed, the sound normalized, the sound and video remultiplexed to an MPEG again, and then the MPEG reburned to DVD. Interested?
    Hello.

  3. Hey, that doesn't sound so bad. I still have the mpeg-2 files on the hard drive. I will try that! Thanks!
