  1. I have used an older version of nero, I think 5.0. I tried a couple of vcd's and it worked with my sony dsp-s360 dvd and memorex cdrw's. Now I have upgraded to win2k & nero 5.5, and now the same cdrw's from the same package won't work with my dvd player. Any reasons why?

  3. Yes they still play on the computer. I'll try going back to the old version of nero that did work and see if there's a difference. Other wise maybe its my burner, but it still burns great for everything else, hmmm!

  4. i used nero 5.5 with win2k, and i wasted 7 cdrs just trying to make one vcd. at the end, i got two vcds out of it. um, it gave me error message saying 'cant find some drivers and trying to use aspi' or something like that when i start nero. and when i test to burn, it failed. like there's something wrong w/ my cd burner or the connection.
so, after all that, i switched back to win98. and seems to work find, at least i dont have problem w/ it. but either case, i used ez cd creator now. and havent have a problem yet. and it take less time to make my vcd. (i'm using win9
so, if any one can resolve this issue between nero and win2k, please help. tia

  5. Ok I reinstalled nero 5.0 that used to work before to make vcd's on memorex cdrw and play on my player. Still doesn't work I guess that it has to so with me using win 2kpro but oh well. I have a Sony dsp360 and i have learned to hate this thing for vcd's. I'll just save up for the pioneer that I read about here.

  6. Only a wild suggestion, but Nero has an download file on their web site if 'you have problems with (S)VCD - it downloads a .dll file that might fix the problem.

Funny thing is that it seems to overwrite a later file from the 5.5.5.1 download

  7. Have you checked on the finalize disk before writing ?

I had the same problem even I already upgraded the dll.
Then a realized the only different is that checkbox setting.

    I hope this helps.

  8. Yes I tried both the new dll file and the finalize check box, still doesn't work. What a bummer. The Cirtcuit City by me has the pioneer 343 dvd player for $149 I'll just the better player and give up on the sony that I have for playing vcd's.

  9. Do you have the right ASPI drivers installed for Win 2k?
    And Nero?
Do other cd's burn ok? LIke audio cd's etc?
I would look around on Neros site for updated drivers and dll's for Win 2k first.
