  1. I have an archos AV320. It plays AVI files. I am trying to convert (rip) DVD's to play on this device. I have tried several ripping software but nothing seems to work right with the audio portion. Can anyone recommend how to convert these files without the audio being garbled? Thanks.

Is there any way for you to get one of these AVI files on your computer ?
If so you could try to find out what kind of audio and video,
    by using AVIcodec or Gspot

  3. Sure. I have converted a file/movie and it is still on my computer. After I find out what kind of audio/video - then what?
