  1. I can't seem to get shrink to work for me. It all seems straight forward to use. I've read all the guides here and thought it would be fine. The problem is getting shrink to produce something I can burn. I tried viewing the files on my computer before burning and they don't work.

I tried DVDFAB and that program works fine. I view the files before burning and they work as does my backup dvd.

I had one DVD 5 that I could burn without needing to encode (no shrink) and that burned fine.

I really like shrink and all of its capabilities, but the inability to succeed at this seemingly simple task is frustrating.

    Here's specs:

    DFI lanparty NF2 Ultra
    XP2500 barton
    1gb PC3200
    120gb WD SE; 120gb Maxtor
    Radeon 9500np
    Liteon DVD/CDRW combo (master sec.ide)
    Pioneer A06 (oem version)
    Antec Truepower 480
    XP pro sp1

    Help please

  2. By the way, I've used Nero 5.5 to burn the successful ones. Early on, I tried decrypter but it couldn't locate the video source file??

  3. Does the VIDEO_TS folder have at least five files in it(2-IFO,2-BUP,1-VOB)?
I have found by ripping to HDD first using DVDDecrypter helps with compression.

  4. I'm going by what I can remember (I'm taking a "break" at work). I believe the files are there. The curious thing is that the file I normally click on to test my file (VTS or something like that) is a different size than the original even if I don't use any compression. I think the original is 20kb and the shrinked version is 6kb. At this time, I'm only using shrink to split my files. I don't want to do any compression. I'm at a loss as to why the size of the file is less (and non-playable). DVDFAB doesn't do this.

Nero sucks. Use DVD Shrink 3.0 to rip the movie, and Clone DVD to burn. When you go to backup the movie, just throw it into it's own folder, I usually name the folder the same as the movie for obvious reasons. Then use Clone DVD to burn the movie files. No need to do anything else, just select the movie folder, click "OK" and that's it! Very simple, over 130 movies ripped & burned, and never one coaster!

  6. Hi all.

fsh42na, you might want to read these user-friendly guides:
    http://www.dvdshrink.info/guides.php

I'd also suggest you use DVD Shrink v3.0 beta 5 if you're not already doing so.

To preview the backup from your computer, you can either use "Open DVD from folder" and select the "VIDEO_TS" folder you saved the shrunk files in, or select each .VOB file separately.
