    OK,

I've got Premiere 6.0 and I have my video from DV cam layed out and edited the way I want. all files together total more than 16 gig!(~80min)

I want to save it to a MPEG2 file of less than 4gig and have high quality.

If I use Premiere's built in encoder It doesn't allow me to sellect the bit rate. Do I want to frame serve to CCE or TMPGenc? I haven't got a clue how to do this. I've got all the software, but HOW do I make Premiere "Serve" the frames?

Detailed instructions needed for this DUNCE!

    Thanks,
    gNOME

    OK, Thanks.

I've got the latest AVSynth (.92) and it looks a little different, but I think I've got it.

    PROBLEM:
TMPGenc (2.0) Will not accept the Part.avs as an input file. (Unrecognised Format) so I sellected the AVIwrapper.
TMPGenc IS accepting the input now, BUT it is not accepting the audio....

I tried "Output a WAV file" and the WAV_out.wav file appears, but TMPGenc is not accepting it either.

I now know that I MUST upgrade...

    DULE Celleron 366
    128MB RAM
    12gig system disk
    19gig data disk

155 HOURS left and it is not getting any audio!

  3. Did you copy the dll to \system dir and merge the settings in the registry??

  4. I've always had trouble frameserving from premiere. An easier method to encode to mpeg is to use BBMPEG (http://go.to/doom9 has it) and install it as a plugin (instructions are in the readme). If you want to use transitions you'll have to get the Panasonic encoder as I've never actually got them to work with BBMpeg

    Wooo Hoooo!

OK here is what I did.
After letting bbMPEG crunch on it for about 28 hours and still being told it will take 4 days to finish I said forget it.

I realised that I still had Uled Video Studio 4 that came with my Camcorder. I did not like the interface it used, so I'd forgotten about it.

BUT... It produces very decent MPEG1 files VERY Quickly on my 366x2 system.
It took about 4 hours to encode Enterprise Series premier(only 68min with the comercials cut out)
I made my VERY FIRST VCD using NERO 5.5.5.1 and it worked fine in all my computers......

    My Toshiba 3109 woun't read CD-Rs though......
My need to pick up a APEX from Wal-Mart for $89

    Thanks for the help.
    LES
