  1. First problem: They burn bad discs with CloneDVD/AnyDVD which appears to be a known problem from my searching the forums.

Second problem: I am trying to back up Irreversible (w/Monica Belluci, Mmmmm with DVD Shrink 3.0 beta 5/Nero 6. All I get is a garbage filled video and audio disc. It plays but everything is corrupted. Im almost sure it is the disc but is there a remote chance it could be something else? Ive backed up successfully before on these discs with Shrink/Nero but this one is giving me a real hard time.

    Thanks in advance.

I had/have a problem with these disks and ULead Moviefactory. It says that the job was succesful but my DVD player says NO DISC.

I do the same job with some 1X cheapos and everything is fine.

Anybody know if these disks have problems???

  3. I use Vebatim disks (+R). No problem here. Although my writer is a verbatim. I did have a problem with a bunch of Verbatim +RW disks. Sent them in and they sent out a new batch.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

I've had nothing but good luck with Verbatim, although I _have_ run across a few players that are picky about them. I think they might be having QC issues.

  5. I only had problem when using copytodvd, after I shifted to imgtool and dvd decrypter, it works fine!

BTW, it's not only vertabim dvd+r, I had same issue with memorex dvd+r

  6. I have used both Memorex DVD+Rs and Verbatims, which are both by RICOH. Never had any issues. I use a TDK 4X burner, and the latest version of Nero before version 6. I set up Nero to do a DVD-ROM(UDF/ISO) and they play perfectly fine in my Philips player. Philips is one of the major companies behind the DVD+R format, so that may be why they work so good. In fact I have never had any issues with Nero or any of the brands of DVDs I have used(Fuji, Imation, Sony, Memorex, Verbatim), so either I have a very good burner that is not sensitive to badly manufactured DVDs or my DVD player has no problems reading any type of +Rs.

  7. I have burned about 30 of the 4X +R discs (by Ricoh) - no problems whatsoever (except I made two coasters trying out DVDXCOPY Express - after two failures, I uninstalled it) I have since stayed with Shrink and RecordMax or Decrypter. The burned discs will play in my Zenith and Sony standalone players but not my old Toshiba 1200. Also, the Memorex +R 4X (also by Ricoh) works just as well for me.

  8. Verbatim has been switching manufacturers lately. I have some made by MCC and they suck. about 1/2 of them give bad burns. the Ricoh ones work fine.

Same here. CopyToDVD gave me coasters with Verbatim (both Ricoh and MCC) and Nero was fine. I could burn Maxell DVD+RW with CopyToDVD and that was fine.

  10. Are you trying to burn 4x media in a 2.4x burner. When I burned 4x media in my 2.4 burner what I got was a disk that might play wouldn't play well or could not be seen at all depending on the player.

  11. You know, I never checked the manufacturer of these discs. I will do that when I get home.

Oh and I have Phillips player as well

I know this is true of their DVD-R, but their DVD+R 4X have been very stable. I've burned over fifty with no coasters using a Sony DRU500AX.

  13. I bought a pack of 15 verbatim 4x DVD-R a long time ago now and all of them were unusable above 4GB. I could visibly see bubbles and voids in the dye near the outer edge of the discs. My solution is to simply stay away from their media.
