I am using DVD Shrink and Record Now DX for burning.

After I shrink the DVD I go to Record Now DX and it says that there is no compatible DVD recording device.

    I have a Pioneer DVR-106.

but when I open Record Now DX I can select the DVR-106 if I use the wizard.

If I do not use the wizard all it shows on the left hand side of the screen is my regular DVD ROM drive.

Well anyway if I use the wizard I go through all the steps to make a Data Disk and after it is finished burning, I put it in my DVD player and I get a error message saying "No playback feature found".

If anyone knows where I can find info to make sure I have all the settings correct for Record Now DX that would be extremely helpful. Thanks for your time... Later... Phil

  2. Try copy to dvd. It is probably the easiest burning program to use going around. And so far over 200 burns with no coasters.

  5. Why would a data disk play in your DVD player? What are you putting on the disk?

Might be that the 106 is pretty new. Or might be some other incompatibility in your system.

    ---------

And to whoever asked, RecordNow doesn't have a template for Video DVD, you have to pick Data Disc.

yeah for Record Now DX you have to select Data Disk.

It may be that the 106 is to new because on my dad's system he has a 105 and I never had any problems with it. I just did not know if there was anything different that I had to set up... Thanks for all the help from everyone...

I'm not sure if there IS a PX Engine update for Record Now DX or not.

    Let's check!

Checking... (at the Veritas server, odd!)

    "Veritas Update Manager, 882k" INSTALLED...

Checking... (now at the Sonic server)

    Nope, up to date.

    4.61DX is the latest version.

OK well I was just looking at the compatibility list for Record Now DX and it does not support the DVR-106 burner. No wonder I have had some problems... If you want to check out the list click below. http://eval.veritas.com/downloads/pro/px358.pdf[/url]

Probably just drive/program incompatibility, Nero is really stupid about that same thing, 5.5 wouldn't recognize my CD-RW drive! Anyways, my program of choice to burn movies is Clone DVD, very easy and simple!
