Yes. Don't use nero to author - it's intended as an application for burning stuff to CD/DVD writables, and not - goddamn! (not directed at you - it's for the Ahead people) - a video disc authoring application.
I've never succeded in making a VCD with Nero that my standalone player would accept. As I've told 100s of times, I was on the verge of giving up this VCD creation business altogether, but luckily found VCDEasy.
So, use VCDEasy to author and create the VCD image for you. Then, if VCDEasy can't burn on your system, take the cue/bin that VCDEasy creates, and burn this with Nero.

  3. oh i see...do u burn only the CUE file or everything that vcdeasy produces? because i burnt all 3 files vcdeasy produced, the CUE, XML n one other unknown file into a data cdrom but my vcd player can't read it although it acknowledges the cd as a vcd. unfortunately i think theres some error so my vcd player can play it.

The files of interest are xxx.cue and xxx.bin. The bin file is the actual data that is to be written to the CD, and the cue file is instructions to the Cd writing application on how and where to write the data.
So after a successful authoring with VCDEasy, open Nero, close any wizard, and select Burn Image and locate the newly created cue file.
    Hit the Burn button.

When I had trouble with that, I got Daemon tools and mounted
the bin/cue as a fake disk and used the burning programs'
    COPY DISK function.
That way it doen't have to know what a CUE is

  6. after i've burnt the cd using nero, the resulting vcd is jerky n doesnt work. is this the problem with nero or the burner? n after changing to a different cd writing programme there is still the same prob.

does this mean its the prob with my burner? n if so, how can i solve it?
