  1. Hello,

Can anyone email me a working copy of the ac3fix GUI
    available at
    http://www.roderz.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/euro2/

The .rar file posted there is corrupt.

Much appreciated if someone could email it to me at delgadil@yahoo.com

    Thanks,

Works fine to open with winrar 3.20. The file should be 236 394 bytes.

  3. Thanks, I was using an older version of WinRAR. I was able to unrar it but clicking on ac3gui.exe results in the following error:

ac3GUI.exe - Unable To Locate Component
This application has filed to start because CC3260MT.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Any tips on how to get this work?

CC3260MT.DLL thats the borland run time lib.

Ooops - my fault last compile I forgot to uncheck the RTL box in BC+builder!

I'v put up a new file so you shouldn't need the dll (every thing's compiled in)
New rar file size is 259,178b

Baldrick how come it worked 4 u? u got borland installed then?

Could you please post a ZIP version? Or just the EXE if that is the only file. I really do not want to spend $$ for WinRAR.

    THANKS!
Thank You & Have a great Day! :)

  11. Hmmm, can't seem to get AC3fixGui to work. Tried extracting with the aforementioned progs, also Winace. Nothing apparently wrong with extraction, the interface comes up, all goes well until the process button is hit. The ac3fix.exe box flashes and disappears, and that's that. Tried downloading several times, tried downloading the .dll separately, no dice. The size of the GUI download is 258,668b. Anyone have any ideas?

Are both files in the same directory? and is the audio file your working on definitly an ac3 file?
Lack of disk space will also make it bomb out as well,
All I can suggest is to copy the ac3fix.exe to your windows directory, and run the gui from anywhare.

What's so hard about typing "ac3fix unfixed.ac3 fixed.ac3" that it needs a GUI?!? If you're still in posession of at least one of your fingers, I can see no need for a GUI for a simple CLI app like ac3fix (even if I fully understand the urge to create a GUI for it as an exercise).

  14. Nope, tried everything but copying to Windows Directory. Either it's corrupted or something else is interfering. Actually, it's the .exe that doesn't work. Thanks for the replies, rather than fool with it any more, I just used BeSliced.

Nothing at all urgent, just like to try things out. Also, I keep a few problem files around to test tools with. Seems every so often someone has the devil of a time with an AC3 file. Of course there are workarounds for the occasional buggered AC3. In case this is useful to anyone, I tried BeSliced (BeSplit frontend) on just such a file and what do you know, it actually fixed it. The AC3 had played before with no apparent problem on software players, and had been extracted with VirtualDubMod, but after authoring, sync was out. However, after authoring with the fixed file, the DVD plays fine on a real bastard of a picky player, so I know it's right. :P

    For what it's worth.

I just dl'd it my self (having done a reinstall of w2k)
copied the ac3fix.exe to windows directory and the gui to the desktop
    and every thing runs fine.
Never had a file it couldn't fix (yet)

  16. Oh, well, something obscure on my machine is doing it then. Thanks again for the replies.
