  1. I had a codec installed to play SVCD in WMP and after a while something went wrong and every mpeg2 video cut off a few seconds before the end and WMP crashed. The video also stopped a few seconds before the end in PowerDVD also.

to solve this problem I tried uninstalling the mpeg2 codecs and reinstalling some different ones. Now, everytime I open an mpeg2 video in WMP I get an error message saying "cannot find specified file".

So, i installed powerDVD and tried to play SVCD in there. It worked! but the color is screwed. It plays the files very dark and with high contrast. It also does this in Intervideo Windvd. I also noticed that when I play an mpeg2 and the color screws....from that point on, every video I play (VCD, ASF etc) is also dark until I reboot.

I'm presuming I've deleted an important codec file. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how to solve it? thx!
