Hi,
What format are commercial DVDs that are purchased in shops written in?? Presumably they are not in DVD -R or DVD +R as these cannot be read by all players.
What kind of hardware is required to create a DVD of commercial standard (i.e. one which works in all dvd players).
Thanks for your help.

DVDs are not burnt like with dvd-r or dvd+r. They are pressed using pressing machines. I have no idea how much a machine like this would cost, but its definitely alot and you probably wouldn't be allowed to purchase one unless you had a commercial licence.
