  1. Hi there,

I have two videos, one NTSC and one PAL that I would like to join together with VDub. However, I need to recompress the NTSC to PAL first.

When I try to do so by changing the fps from 29,97 (NTSC) to 25 (PAL) the audio is completely out of sync.

What can I do to have a perfect recompression of the NTSC into PAL ?

    Thx in advance.

  2. hmmm, this sux badly. converting NTSC to pal sux, and you cant just change the frame rate. let me explain something to you. changing the framerate in Vdub, means that if you change from 29.97 to 25, you will have less frames. less frames means shorter video. shorter video with normal length audio = out of sync. the best thing for you do to is to run the Vdubs inverse telecine that will convert the video to 23.97 without losing the sync because it is a progressive conversion. once you have your 23.97 avi file, run TMPGEnc. Open your 23.97 FPS Avi file, and goto settings. all you have to change on this page is the framerate to 25fps. once done, click OK. Then click FILE -> Output to File -> AVI File. select your codec (probably divX), and then start the conversion. the end result will be an AVI file in 25FPS format, with the audio and video still in sync. the drawback here, is that when you convert from 23.97 to 25, it adds 1 repeated frame per second. you will know what i mean when you watch the video.
