  1. Hi-

I have an mpeg that I took from a commercial DVD using DVD Decrypter. I can play it OK on the PC, and can put it on a DVD & play it in my DVD player with no problem.

I want to remove about 60 seconds of material at the end of the file, but every time I do so, the resulting mpeg has no audio. I've used both Video Studio 7 and TMPGenc. All goes well with the cutting & saving, but no audio.

Am I overlooking something simple, trying to do something that's impossible, or??

I've done this with DV AVI's captured from an ADVC-100 with good results, but this is the first mpeg I've tried to edit.

    Thanks!

Have you tried it with AviSynth's Trim function?

  4. Thanks Lordsmurf; although I didn't try MPEG2VCR, I did read your Commercial Removal guide, and made note of your comment that TMPGenc sometimes has difficulty with an mpeg, and that the problem can be solved by removing a few seconds from the beginning & end of the clip & saving as a new mpeg. I did that with my problem file, and it seems to have worked! Before, I had only been removing material at the end, and as I mentioned, the result was the video I wanted, but w/o sound. This time, I removed 2 frames from the start in addition to the footage I wanted to remove at the end, and everything worked fine.

    Thanks again!
