    Hi

I've just downloaded svcd2dvd demo and after installation (including
MS .NET framework or stuff like that) with attempts to start the program, I
keep getting the following popup window with error message:

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

    Process id=0x2dc (732), Thread id=0x238 (568)

Clock OK to terminate the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application.

The image is attached as well.
The OS is Windows2000. Please CC reply to wongmc@yahoo.com.

    Thanks
    MCW

Are you sure you are following the instructions properly? Especially #4:

    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

Same problem here - just downloaded the demo version (2:30am UK time on 2nd October) and I get the same kind of error.

I unzipped the .EXE file in .ZIP file (I assume that's what you meant?) into the install directory but still get the same error.

I can only assume this is a bug in the new version posted, given that this has only been reported since 1st October?

    Running Win2000 Pro here.

    Sure thing:

    C:\winnt\microsoft.net\framework\v1.0.3705
    and
    C:\winnt\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.4322

plus assorted files, mostly dated 14/05/2002 and 20/02/2003. I installed it from Windows Update on 29/9/2003.

Well after some research into the issue i think there is some .Net versioning nonsense going on. My advise is to re-install the .Net framework. This time can you install from : http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/netdevframework.asp

Ah-ha, that seems to have done it, thanks MiniMod!

Obviously it's worth including a note and that link so that others don't fall into the same trap.

(Interestingly, the only difference looking at it quickly is a config folder under the v1.1.4322 folder)

I'll test it a bit later but if it's half as good as it looks on the web page, I'll be registering it.

    Cheers,
    SimonP.

Just a quick follow up - it's working nicely now and the quality (particularly video) is stunning, much better than I was getting with NeroVision Express!

I just need to work out which of the niggles I have are a result of the Demo version's limitations and I'll be happy enough to part with some cash

    Many thanks.
