  1. I converted a .wmv into mpeg, but just in case..
can this format be played on quicktime on a macintosh?
i have to play this file onto a comp at my school, and they only have macs..
they probably don't install codecs or nothin and.. just in case..
    does quicktime come pre-installed?>
if not, what program comes pre-installed in .. i think something like os 9 ,(NOT OS X) for macs?
will that program or quicktime be able to be play a mpeg 1 file?
    thx

Can you share how you converted the wmv to mpeg1?

    It would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

quicktime comes preinstalled so after the conversion you should have no problems viewing it on those macs at school

Will the OS9 edition of Quicktime play MPG1 without the MPEG codec installed?
If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.

Support for mpeg-1 has been in QT last ten years, no need to worry (unless U use really old QT, maybe version 2 or 3...).

Also to the original poster, if those school Macs use OS X, there is a Windows Media Player for OS X available. I wouldn't normally recommend using it but this would prevent you from having to convert things. I'm sure its on the Microsoft Mac web site. I installed it as it comes with MS Office v.X.
