  1. Shop4tech and their partners are now manufacturing Matrix 4x DVD+R disks. I have some here which I am going to test. When I am done, I will post the results. Hopefully these are as good, if not better, then the 3rd gen DVD-R Matrix disks.

  2. I'm about a week late on this post. Basically, the overall test results of these +R disks are good. I only tested 7 of these...I figured ten would be enough to give accurate results...but three of them were scratches/scuffed in shipping so I dumped them. Out of the 7 I tested...all 7 burned and play perfectly. On 2 of the 7, the Nero Cd Speed results and Kprobe results were much higher then with the other 5. However, the disks still played perfectly.

Overall..the Kprobe and Nero Cd Speed results were higher then average...and higher then an average "3rd formula" Matrix disk. With this being said....if you are thinking about choosing between the 3rd formula Matrix disks and these Matrix +R disks..go with the -R disks. If you have a +R burner only....then these disks are definitely a viable option.

BTW: I was told by shop4tech that these disks would also be continuously improved just as their first gen matrix disks were. They were right about the first generation Matrix disks...so i'm sure the +R Matrix disks will follow the same path. Fortunately, the +R Matrix disks don't have the same negatives as their counterpart...first formula DVD-R Matrix disks. So there isn't as much to improve upon with the +R's which is a good thing.

I was pretty sure I posted the media id a few weeks ago..but I guess not. At any rate..the media id is what's listed above. Not sure of the price..you'd have to check shop4tech's site.

Lastly..yes..they all burned @ 4x with my DRU-510A. I burned one @2x to see if there was a difference with the Kprobe and Nero Cd Speed results..and there wasn't. Some media will yield better results at lower speeds..and believe it or not..i've tested some media that will yield better results at higher burn speeds.
