I have all these 700Mb videos and I noticed that
if I make a shortcut to each one of them, they play fine
when I double click them on my computer, so I
burned the shortcuts on my DVD to save space, and
now they won't play on my set top player.

Any body know what I'm doin wrong ? Any help would be appreciated

Foo has been around way too long to ask a question like that. Either someone has stolen his ID or he's F---ng with us.

What does it take to get help on this forum anyway ?
It's been almost a whole hour and all I get is people
    making fun of me.
I'm going to take my Tequilla and go sit in a corner.

  6. Hmm? You didn't say how many 700MB files you have but I bet what happened is you confused the 4.7GB vs 4.3GB file size limit.

Here's how it works, when the DVDR is made it can hold 4.7GB of data, but see the hole in the center of it, that's lost storage space that drops it down to 4.3GB.

When the DVD writers laser tries to write to that area it basically ruins the entire burn. This often happens when people burn with Nero. Nero is just no good, a real DVD burning program wouldn't let you burn to the 'lost' 0.4GB section.

  8. Sounds like that should work. That's how I do it when I'm having Taquilla.

Well it's been over 2 hr's since I posted some help for you,

One should at least have the decency to come back to the forum and tell us all if any of our advice cured the problem for you (because we don't know what we're on about and want you to test all our theories for us).

I mean everyone else does - don't they?

You know, I started this because I thought people might get a
laugh out of it and I think some did. The next will be a question
about ulead stuff for the ulead robot.
As Smurff pointed out, however the funny ones are real.
I just participated in a REAL thread (that got locked) with
    classic behavior

    Q. I stole this movie and I can't be bothered to think or supply info but I'm a genius.
    A. Supply info.
    Q. Why are you such a jerk for not answering my question.

    Reality is stranger than fiction.

... and i looked all over and I cant find the network connection
on my player . d'you spoze it's optical or even IR ?

  11. Did you move the files on your hard drive? If your standalone is using the shortcuts as a guide and you have moved the files on your hard drive to another folder, it won't be able to find them. Just a thought (brain fart?).

    Give me a shot.

(I just got done with a 3-hour freelance video presentation project that's being used at some convention tomorrow. Decent money, too! A bit tired.)

And make it a double! Don't forget the salt and lime.
