  1. Hi,

I've searched and searched, but have yet to find a definitive answer so here goes:

I have a bunch of mpeg files (1s, not 2s) which I need to convert and add to a Final Cut Express movie and ultimately, to DVDSP2.

I used bbdemux to split the audio and video. I tried the suggested route of changing the suffix for the audio from .m1a to .mp3, but ITunes 4.0 does not convert it to AIFF for me - I only get 4 seconds before the file is silent.

What should I do now? bbdemux was great at splitting them, but now I'm at my wits end. Ultimately, I would still like to have 2 seperate files so I can compress the audio with A.Pack because I was able to convert the original mpeg into avi and then into a .mov, but the file size was unnecessarily too big.

    Thanks,

Try renaming them mp2 and using madplaywrap, Mpeg2Works, ffmpegX, maybe even iTunes to convert them to other formats.

if you rename them to MP2 and ***NOT*** MP3, iTunes will convert them to AIF or WAVE.

Why dont you just use the "re-encode MP2" option of MPEGPowerTool?

This way you just load your original MP2 in, change the sampling rate to 48k, and let 'er rip... a lot less time consuming since it turns a three step process into a 1 step process without changing the file's format.
