  1. I was building my premiere project out from 6 avi. files and 3 mpeg files. When I was about to finish editing, there was an accidental shutdown. As I restarted the PC and opened the last saved project, premiere would bring back everything but the mpeg files. It just doesnt recognize them anymore. It asks me for their location, although they remain in the same directory.

Then I tell Premiere where the files are and I just get this error message: "The media type of the selected files is different from that of the missing or offline file."

Furthermore, when I try to open the mpeg file alone from Premiere, I get "File is an unsupported type"

This is driving me crazy. What is the problem with the mpeg files?

  2. P.D.: Both mpegs can be opened with Windows Media Player
