In this program I want to convert an AVI to DVD (obviously) but I want to use 352x480 as the res, instead of 720x480. In the "resize to" option, I can only select DVD 720x480 or CVD 352x480. If I choose CVD my encoded MPEG uses a lower bitrate than it should and it adds borders to an anamorphic video (i.e it appears squashed).

Is it possible to get AVI2DVD to work properly with 352x480 DVD? Or am I stuck with 720x480?

Main reason I wanted 352x480 was to get a better picture for my bitrate. I was going to use a 4.4Mbps average - is this OK for 720x480? The video has quite a bit of action in it. But also a 352x480 video takes less time to encode :P

    What should I do?

  2. use tmpgenc to convert your avi to a non-std vcd you can even use higher bitrates if your player can stand it.
    Vcd 352x288 1150cbr (or go higher) :P
Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.

    Err... I don't want VCD. I want a 1/2 D1 DVD.
