  1. I am trying to convert a xvid to svcd. I used virtual dub to save the wav for the audio and then use TMPGEnc to convert it. When i finish i used nero to burn the cd and when i play it the audio is out of sync. What can i do to fix it?

In what way "out of sync"?
    • Is it off from start to end with the same amount? Then add some silence/cut a little at the start of the audio, or use some "skew" when multiplexing.
Is it good to start with, then becomes gradually worse thruout the movie? Then there's probably some frame rate conversion going on. What to do depends on between what frame rates you are converting. It basically revolves around stretching or expanding the audio track a little.
Is it good for a while, then abruptly goes out of sync? Then there's most likely bad frames in the AVI at that point. Run it thru VirtualDub MP3 freeze and scan for bad frames.

I never seperate the video and audio. Every attempt to do so results in out of sync audio.

I use VirtualDubMod to create a new AVI with uncompressed audio, then encode it to MPG.

Just do Direct Stream Copy for the video and change the Compression to PCM or none for audio and SAVE AS AVI. The new file will be large without the compression, but I've never had a audio sync problem since.
