  1. I am trying to capture analog from my VCR using a Canopus ADVC100 device. Plug and play on my computer is able to recognize the ADVC100 via the 1394 port. However, with the present software on my computer, both Ulead VideoStudio 7 and Sonic My DVD, I have been unable to capture video. Everytime I hit the capture button in both programs I receive the error message "either no video capture driver is installed in this system or no device is connected".
I have tried turning the ADVC100 device off and on and have also tried unplugging and then reinserting my firewire to the computer with no resolution of the problem.
Is there something simple I'm doing wrong or is there extra software that I need, or have others had similar problems and have benefited from different software completely?
All help and advice is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Hold down the input selector on the ADVC-100 for about 5 seconds. This will output color bars. Try MovieMaker to see if it sees the bars. Try DVIO to see if it works. Usually if the unit is recognized by the OS, it will download your DV files. You should be able to click on the icon for the ADVC-100 under My Computer and it will launch MovieMaker.
