i have two files......
The first CD1 is fine......
The second is well out of sync.
This is beofre i have tried to do anything with them! they have not been run through virtual dub, TMPGEnc or anything.......
This is not the first i have had like this...... i have another just sitting on my hard drive doing nothing.....
Is there a way of sorting this? i am a user of Avid, can it be corrected using this? i don't think that it will allow me to import the file as it is a divx.
Many thanks.........

The reason you get no help is that you do not supply enough
information. For example
i have two files......
The first CD1 is fine......
what kind of file ?
what's a CD1 ?
Where did you get the files ?
PEOPLE CANT READ MINDS -
i must say from previous posts FOO you seem to be a little ...... how would you say plesantly........ short tempered and rude......
CD1 would be lets say......... Filename.avi.
Its a DIVx v5. Should i say where i got it from? maybe i shuld read over the forum rules again.
I do try and stay within the rules of the forum...... maybe i was "short of information" i didn't think it needed to be that precise.
You have to remember FOO that some of us are newbies...... its a horrible place to be but we all have to start somewhere....... and that is at the beginning..... i will in future take your advise and supply MORE information within the forum rules.
And just to add i'm not here to make enemys........ just here to get help, advise and maybe to help newbies like me solve problems that i have learnt from. -
So you have an avi that is out of sync.
Is it out by a fixed amount throughout the entire length?
When converting with TMPGEnc you can use the audio delay function which is in the source range window. Positive numbers delay the audio later and negative numbers start it sooner. Test a few short clips to get the correct amount of delay.
Does it start in sync then get progressively worse?
Load the avi in Goldwave and save to create a wav audio file. Using the time warp function in Goldwave you can shrink or stretch your audio to match the video. Use the wav file as the audio source for TMPGEnc and test to get the right amount.
Good luck! 8)

There are newbies to video,
and there are people with no common sense.
It is not the same.
You call up a mechanic and tell them
"I have this vehicle and it doesn't work"
What do you suppose you will get ?
I am Mr. Congeniality compared to the mechanics i know. -
thanks ZippyP.
And FOO if ya wanna ba arsey and sarcastic then do it somewhere else, your just a wind up.
