  1. Hi
I have an AOpen DRW 4410 an need some advice on erasing DVD+RW discs.
    What does the best job?
I tried Nero but often when I try re-write with my authoring software it says the disc is not blank.
What does a better job of completely erasing the disc?

    Any Advice appreciated

    Thanks

Nero still does not follow MMC specs thats why it fails sometimes

  5. Thanks for the reply

DVDInfo doesn't erase DVD+RW only -RW thats why, if you look carefully, the erase button on your post is greyed out. You can only format the disc, is this the same as erasing (i.e what is the difference between erasing and formating?? I just want it to be like "new" / completely blank)
When I saw the format option in DVDInfo I thought it was going to format my DVD like a large stiffy (ie read/write functions like nero incd UDF format) so never used it.
    Thanks

  8. LOL!! That obvious that I don’t HUH! Got to start somewhere.
I am a newbie to DVD writing (hence my post in the newbie section) and no I probably don’t know what I am talking about (LOL again).
Never meant to anger or offend anyone, just looking for a good erase program.
Nero doesn’t do a good job, that I know from my own experience (be it small).
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

So why are you telling me to look at the pic carefully?

Anyway DVD+RW doesnt need to be formatted before the first writing.
The drive can do background formatting during burning.
