    hi i want to convert my avi into a mpg and i want to lower the bit rate. but it doesnt seem to let me. the bit rate is at 1246 kbit/sec. is that right?

    how do i do it? where do i go to lower the bitrate?
    i want to lower it to 1149

    i own a napa dav311 and its so jerky that i need to change it. please let me know THANKs

This is really simple if you're using TMPGEnc, after setting your audio and video source file, and after selecting the output file, click "Setting" (diagonally across down and to the right) and you should come up with a window saying "MPEG setting" go down to "Bit rate" and change number to desired value. After that, click OK. Now click "Start" at the top left hand corner of the screen. That should do it!
    NOTE: TMPGEnc does not encode DivX Avi's.

    well i have my wav and my avi in place for the video and audio source but i went and tried to change the bitrate setting and it wont let me. like its in gray color. and i cant lower it!

  4. Once you have your source set, then load your desired template (sounds like you've gotten this far), and then load settings again and select the "unlock" file. Then you can adjust anything you want.
