  1. Can any Studio 7 users help with this one?

I'm in Europe and have footage captured from an American friend's camcorder. I've capped it in NTSC into Studio 7, which was easy to change from PAL capture in the set up dialogue, but now want to ouput it in the same format in readiness to author and then burn to a DVD (I'm using the DVD compatible template in the Make Movie dialogue) which my friend can view back in America. However, I can find no option to change to NTSC format in Make Movie to produce an NTSC MPEG.

So far I can find no FAQ, manual or Pinnacle or DVDHelp forum reference that can tell me how to change it so my MPEG is NTSC.

(Changing the output using the logo in the Windows taskbar seems only to be relevant for tape, which I'm not using.)

Is there another way to change this final MPEG format?

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

You need to choose NTSC in the main Project Properties (Go to EDIT button) -> Project Options -> Compression window. That will make the projects display preview in proper dimensions, etc and give that option when you reach Create Video File.

Just remember to change it back when you go to do your next PAL project.

  3. Thanks for the reply.

However, I don't have those options under Edit. Are you using Studio 7?

Any thoughts? Or are you using Studio 8?

I think you misread my post:

Project Properties (Go to EDIT button) -> Project Options -> Compression window
That's all under FILE, not EDIT.

maybe I should have said " go to Edit button from Project Properties".

Sorry, thought you'd know where to find Project Properties.

japniz & donpedro - all of the above instructions are for Ulead Video Studio 7. :c*

I missed the Pinnacle mention in the first post. It didn't dawn on me until I saw donpedros red tag line.

Sorry for the oversight and any confusion. I call mine "Studio 7", so I rushed to help.

    Good luck :c)
