I've noticed a few commercial dvds which have anamorphic video and menus, but the menus automatically pan & scan themselves on 4:3 televisions. The Spirited Away dvd does this for sure, and I think Resident Evil might do so as well. I'm curious how I might accomplish such a task myself. I would really like to have my menus fill the screen even if the movie doesn't.

You would have to get a multi VTS DVD authoring program such as Scenarist to do that. Most "normal people" authoring programs such as DVD-Lab only support single VTS and usually in that case, it's better to author a 4:3 menu.

While I do have access to scenarist, I hate it with a passion, it's way to complicated for the sort of thing that I'm after. Can this be accomplished with ReelDVD? Either way I still don't know how to go about it, can somebody give me some instructions on how to make multiple VTS's? Also I thought that if you made an anamorphic DVD the menus had to also be anamorphic, but you say to make them 4:3, am I mistaken?
