  1. I want to back up DVD movies. So i want a drive that can copy protected DVDs the best. I'll more than likly be useing Prodisc, Taiyo Yuden, and Ritek DVDs cause Ive found them at a good price.

I know the Plex is external but I can get an external case for the Lite-0n. I dont care that the Plex does 8x either, I want quality and beable to burn any media I throw at it (which i hear is what is great about Lite-On).

Now the only other question is.... Is the 411s out in the US? I cant find it to buy anywhere? Anyone know where to get it or when its release date is? Thanks!

  2. I'd get the Plextor.

I hear that the 411 does not perform that well.
(that might change with firmware update later)
You stop me again whilst I'm walking and I'll cut your fv<king Jacob's off.

  3. I also read a thread (on another DVDr site) where people with the Lite-on 401s were having all kinds of problems with burning different media. Interestingly they were saying that information they seem to have is the 411s contains the same chipset as the 401s and someone got his hands on a copy of the firmware for a 411s and flashed their 401s and it was able to burn -r media, but there were some bugs still to iron out. I normally have alot of respect for Lite-on, but they may need to iron out some bugs. Who knows in their next firmeware they may get all the bugs ironed out. Its suppose to be out in early Oct. in the US.

LiteON are about the most efficient Company when it comes to updating "Firmware".

They are the most reliable burners on the market, in my opinion.
