  1. I have the lastest Demo version of DVDLab and I really like the app; however I am having the hardest time making it work with AC3 audio. I happen to have DVD Architect and it works pretty well with the same project and making the audio work.
    However, I feel more comfortable with DVDLab but can't get the AC3 audio to work,,, I have used Besweet to convert the .mpa to .ac3 and still NO AUDIO......
    If someone has successfully used DVDLab and made it work correctly with AC3,,, please help!!!!!!

  2. I've used AC3 audio with DVD-Lab. I don't know what to suggest because it is so simple. Have you tried playing the AC3 file in an audio player to confirm that it is OK?

    If you don't mind, can you list out how "you" do it,,,, somewhere along the line I am doing something wrong and for the life of me I can not figure out where!!!

  4. I suspect the problem lies in the creation of your AC3 file. I use Vegas Video for converting to AC3. Unless you have Vegas then unfortunately my method won't be of help to you.

  5. The AC3 files you are creating from the .mpa files must be 48khz. 44 will not work.

    DVD-Lab gives a warning if you use a 44.1 file. But it does let you do it.

    I read somewhere that the latest version of the ac3 encoder in BeSweet is broken, and that you have to use the version prior to that, but I'm not sure what version numbers involved.

    I use ac3 with dvdlab and besweet.

    in "tools", "transcode audio" set up use of an external transcoder as follows;

    select External

    Preset = blank

    External EXE = select the folder that contains besweet.exe and select besweet.exe

    Command line = "-core( -input $INPUT -output $OUTPUT ) -ssrc( --rate 48000 ) -ac3enc( -b 224 )"

    (remove the "s) you may want to cut and paste this. This will produce a 224bps 48K ac3 file. (I use 224 as there were problems with some other rates in the pre-release version of dvdlab)

    Then you can open your mpa file under input and it will be saved as a ac3. Just hit Transcode.

    You can also select a mpa (or wav) file in the assets bin and just hit the audio transcode on the assets bin tool bar.

    Hope this works for you.

    I have Vegas+DVD. I'm not sure if regular Vegas includes AC3.

    Here's what I do: File - Render As.
    Save As type: Dolby Digital AC-3.
    Template: Stereo DVD.

    If the audio source includes surround encoding (ie from a tv capture) then I also do Custom - Bitstream - Dolby Surround Mode: Dolby Surround Encoded.
